The UCD process gets morphed into company's product development process to provide flexible options for products which are at different states of development.

In my experience, I had to mostly practice lean UCD process to keep up with Agile environment

The very first process I was exposed to which made me "Interaction Designer". Alan Cooper's team trained us to practice this process which later has seen many improvements. The major take-away here is UX strategy plan still works best for any enterprise product with complex features 

In my experience, healthcare products with longer product development lifecycle can fit into this process. We do discover a lot of needs of end user during research phase. But we can only narrow down few items for one release due to technical and data-sensitivity reasons.

Also, this process proves efficient when there is a dedicated human factors team working on design verification and product evaluation.
